PHOENICIA, Tyre. Philip I. AD 244-249. Æ (29mm, 18.96 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from the front / She-wolf standing right, head left, suckling the twins Romulus and Remus; behind, vexillum with LEG VI F, below, murex shell. Rouvier –; RPC VIII Online 26725. Red-brown patina with earthen highlights, light roughness. Fine. Extremely rare, only two recorded in RPC.
