Lot description: PHOENICIA, Byblos (Gebal). Uncertain king. Circa 433-333 BC. AR Thirty-second Shekel (7.5mm, 0.40 g, 8h). Two hoplites, holding shields, on galley left; below, hippocamp left / Griffin seated right, raising forepaw. Cf. E&E-B Group V.1 (griffin seated left); HGC 10, –. Toned, some roughness on obverse, slightly off center on reverse. Good VF. Extremely rare, unpublished variety. Estimate: 100 USD |
