KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 17.16 g, 10 h), Babylon, struck under Seleukos I, circa 311-300 BC. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram within wreath; below throne, H. Price 3704. Some scrapes, otherwise, good very fine.
