Lot description: Greek KINGS OF ARMENIA. Tigranes II 'the Great', 95-56 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 26 mm, 15.25 g, 1 h), Tigranocerta, circa 80-68. Diademed and draped bust of Tigranes II to right, wearing Armenian tiara adorned with eight-rayed star between two eagles standing outward, heads turned back towards star; all within fillet border. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ TIΓPANOY Veiled and turreted Tyche of Artaxata, seated right on rock, holding palm baranch in her right hand; at her feet, river-god Araxes swimming to right, head facing; on rock, monogram; in right field, monogram; all within laurel wreath.
