SATRAPS OF CARIA. Pixodaros, circa 341/0-336/5 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 6.98 g, 12 h), Halikarnassos. Laureate head of Apollo facing slightly to right, with drapery below. Rev. ΠIΞΩΔAΡOΥ Zeus Labraundos standing right, holding long scepter in his left hand and double-axe over his right shoulder. Traité II, 112, pl. XCI, 1 (same obverse die). Hurter, Pixodarus, pl. 33, 53 (same dies). Pixodarus, p. 227, 27j (this coin, A3/P13). SNG von Aulock 2375-6. A wonderful example, beautifully toned and with a head of Apollo of fine style. Struck from slightly worn dies, otherwise, good extremely fine.

With a head of Apollo of incredibly refined tyle. Light scuff in the reverse field, and slight die wear, otherwise, extremely fine.
