Ancients
Constans, as Augustus (AD 337-350). BI centenionalis (24mm, 5.83 gm, 6h). NGC MS★ 5/5 - 4/5, Silvering. Siscia, 3rd officina, AD 348-350. D N CONSTA-NS P F AVG, pearl diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constans right, seen from front / FEL TEMP-REPARATIO, Constans standing facing at prow on galley, head left, wearing military dress, phoenix standing right on globe in outstretched right hand, grounded labarum with Chi-Rho symbol on banner in left; Victory kneeling left at the stern, steering ship; ΓSIS pellet and symbol in exergue. RIC VIII 201. Gorgeous piece with lovely iridescent surfaces.

Note - the unusual symbol in the exergue is part of a series of five unexplained marks, apparently representing the numbers 1-5 and only used during the period of AD 348-350.
