| Lot description: Ancients THRACIAN KINGDOM. Lysimachus (305-281 BC). AR tetradrachm (30mm, 17.39 gm, 12h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 3/5, Fine Style. Pergamum, ca. 297-281 BC, obverse die signed by the artist K. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon; K (engraver's initial) below, dotted border / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena enthroned left, Nike standing left in outstretched right hand, resting left arm on grounded shield decorated with a lion-head boss, transverse reversed spear beyond; cult statue standing facing in inner left field, crescent left in outer left field, Ξ in exergue. Thompson 219. Müller -. HGC 3.II 1750m. A remarkable coin, made by an artist who signed the dies, showcasing their pride in the work. It's struck on a shiny flan with beautiful toning, highlighting the care and detail put into it. The K-signed dies of the Pergamum Lysimachus tetradrachms are regarded by many as possessing the finest of all numismatic portraits of Alexander the Great. According to H.A.
