The Caesarians. Julius Caesar. April-August 49 BC. Fourrée Denarius (20.5mm, 3.10 g, 12h). Military mint traveling with Caesar. Elephant advancing right, trampling on horned serpent / Emblems of the pontificate: simpulum, aspergillum, securis, and apex. Cf. Crawford 443/1; cf. CRI 9; cf. Sydenham 1006; cf. RSC 49; cf. RBW 1557. Toned, large area of plating missing on reverse and edge, struck on a broad flan. Good Fine.
