Lot description: Marcus Aurelius as Ceasar, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 140-4, (2.91 g), obv. bare head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG P II F COS, rev. around PIETAS AVG, emblems of priesthood, knife, sprinkler, jug, lituus and simpulum, (S.4786, RIC 424a, RSC 451); AE as, issued 161, Rome Mint, (10.72 g), obv. bare head to right, around [IMP CA]ES M AVREL ANTONINVS AVG, rev. CONCORD AVGVSTOR TR P XV around, COS III in exergue, S C across field, Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus with clasped hands, Marcus holds scroll, (S.5057, RIC 801, C.46).
