Obv: Portrait right of Alexander III as Hercules, wearing lionskin headdress. Rx: Zeus seated left holding eagle and scepter; AΛEΞANΔPoY on left, BAΣIΛEΩΣ on right, magistrate name MEΣAM in lower left field, ethnic ΔIO in upper left field. Struck under Mithradates at the beginning of his second war against the Romans. Price 1128; Müller 487. Well struck on a nice broad medallic flan. Choice EF. Lightly toned with some luster.
