Lot description: Ancient coins Byzans Michael VI Stratioticus, 1056-1057, Constantinople, Tetarteron, nimbate Virgin rasing both hands / crowned Michael with long cross and akakia, DOC 2.2, S 1841, 4.00 g - rare. Theodora choose the court bureaucrat Michael as her successor in the middle of 1056. He was not a successful ruler, and after a short reign he lost power and abdicated in August 1057. EF Ex.
