Romanus IV Diogenes with Eudocia (AD 1068-1071). AV tetarteron nomisma (18mm, 4.03 gm, 6h). NGC MS 4/5 - 4/5. Constantinople. + ΘKЄ-ROHΘ, half-length bust of the Virgin facing, wearing pallium and maphorium, holding medallion containing facing bust of infant Christ wearing nimbus cruciger; MP-ΘV across fields / + PwMANS-ЄVΔKI•, half-length facing busts of Romanus IV (on left), bearded, wearing crown with pendilia and loros, and Eudocia (on right), wearing crown with pendilia and pinnacles, and jeweled robe with collar, jointly holding globus surmounted by long jeweled cross between them. Sear 1862. Luminous example struck on a pineapple-yellow flan.
