IC-XC (barred), Christ seated facing on backless throne, wearing nimbus cruciger, pallium, and colobium, raising right hand in benediction, book of Gospels cradled in left arm; double border / + IΩ ΔECΠOTH, half-length figures of John III (on left), wearing loros and crown with pendilia, akakia in right hand, and the Virgin (on right), nimbate, wearing pallium and maphorium, left hand raised in benediction, both holding long patriarchal cross between them; manus Dei above emperor, ΘV / MHP (barred, ligate) in fields around Virgin, double border.
