Bronze sestertius, AD 130-133. Rome.
Obv: HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, laureate head right. Rev: MAVRETANIA, Mauretania standing left, holding javelin and horse bridle; behind, horse pacing left; SC in exergue.
Very Fine; rev. smoothed.

Reference: RIC II.3-1676 var. (bust type); BMCRE-1764 var. (same).
Rarity: Exceedingly Rare variant; unrecorded in the standard reference works, this the first to be sold at auction in at least two decades.
