Pr-2151. In the name and type of Alexander III (the Great) of Macedon. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left; in left field, monogram. Light cleaning marks on the reverse fields, but otherwise a well-preserved example with pewter-gray surface tone.

Near Extremely Fine; beautiful iridescent toning; well centered on an exceptionally broad flan. Engraved in this mint's exotic style, with wonderful reverse detail.

Price -, cf. 2899 (dated year 20). HGC 3.1, 910. Hold notes that while this coin has no series marks the obverse is a die match to Pamphylia, Aspendus tetradrachm with a reverse die dated Civic Year 20 (ca. 193/2 BC(?)). Exquisite piece struck by handsome Fine Style dies.
