THRACE. Anchialus. Gordian III, with Tranquillina (238-244). AE Pentassarion (24,5mm, 11,22g.) ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ ΑΥΓ ϹΑΒ ΤΡΑΝΚΥΛΛΙΝΑ. Confronted Gordian, draped, laureate and cuirassed, and Tranquillina, wearing stephane. Rev. OVΛΠIANWN AΓXIAΛEWN. Homonoia standing left, holding cornucopia and patera over altar. RPC VII.2, 1161. Tachev 501-2. Struck on a small flan, part of the legend is missing, otherwise very sharp, rarely seen in this condition with pleasant olive green patina. Extremely Fine for this rare variety.
