Diademed, veiled, and draped bust of Shaqilat to right; in right field, date. Barkay 215. Meshorer, Nabataean, Sup. 5, Pl. 4 (as Aretas IV). Schmitt-Korte 83. Very rare. Good fine.
Rabbel II Soter was the last ruler of the Nabataean Kingdom. After his death Trajan established direct Roman rule in what became known as the province of Arabia Petraea with Bostra as capital.
