Claudius II Gothicus. AD 268-270. Antoninianus (21mm, 4.67 g, 6h). Cyzicus mint, 2nd officina. 2nd emission, circa mid AD 269. IMP C M AVR CLAVDIVS AVG, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust left, raising hand and holding globe / VIRTVTI AVGVSTI, Hercules standing right, holding lion's skin and leaning on club which rests on rock; M|C//–. RIC V Online 893; RIC V –; Normanby –; J. Mairat, "L'ouverture de l'atelier impérial de Cyzique sous le règne de Claude II le Gothique," RN 163 (2007), 42. Dark brown patina, silvering, slight roughness. VF. Extremely rare, only three known to RIC Online.
