Lot description: Divus Lucius Verus. Died AD 169. Æ Sestertius (31mm, 26.51 g, 5h). Consecration issue. Rome mint. Struck under Marcus Aurelius, AD 169. Bare head right / Four-tiered funeral pyre, decorated with garlands and surmounted by facing quadriga. RIC III 1511 (Aurelius); MIR 18, 187-6/10; Banti 41. Dark green-brown surfaces, lightly pitted.
