SEVERVS AVG PART MAX, laureate head to right / RESTITVTORI VRBIS, emperor standing to left, holding patera over tripod altar and spear. RIC IV 168a; RSC 612. 3.35g, 19mm, 12h. Very Fine. Purchased from Fritz Rudolf Künker GmbH & Co. KG, March 2008. Septimius Severus was credited with restoring stability to the Roman Empire after the tumultuous reign of the emperor Commodus and the civil wars that erupted in the wake of his murder.
