Marc Antony, as Imperator and Triumvir (43-30 BC). AR denarius (17mm, 3.97 gm, 5h). NGC XF 4/5 - 4/5. Legionary issue, mint traveling with Antony in Greece (Aegae or Patrae), ca. 32-31 BC. ANT•AVG• / III•VIR•R•P•C, war galley under oar right with triple ram prow and scepter tied with fillet / LEG-IV, aquila between two signa. Crawford 544/17. 108. Sydenham 1219. Antonia 108. Sear Imperators 352. Reflective gunmetal surfaces.

The legion represented on this coin was Legio Quarta Scythica, which served under Marc Antony. After the Battle at Actium, Octavian transferred the legion to Moesia - the same legion in which served the future emperor, Vespasian.
