Lot description: Hadrian. AD 117-138. Æ Medallion (52.5mm, 83.50 g, 12h). Rome mint. Struck AD 124-127. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS, laureate bust right, slight drapery on left shoulder / COS III in exergue, symbols of the Capitoline Triad, to left, owl standing right on shield, head facing; in center, eagle standing right, head left; to right, peacock standing slightly left. RIC II.3 2825; Gnecchi III 64 and pl. 144, 10 var. (without frame); Banti 207 var. (same); Gemini III, 368 (same dies). Dark brown patina and brassy surfaces, roughness, some smoothing. VF.
