Attica, Athens, silver tetradrachm, (c.165-42 B.C.), 36mm, (16.98 g), New Style coinage, with the monograms or names, issue struck 171-170 B.C., (revised to 138-139 B.C.), obv. head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing a triple-crested Attic helmet decorated with a Pegasos in flight to right above the raised earpiece, rev. owl standing to right, head facing, on amphora, A-QE to left KYH/SI, and to right EY/MA, to right Nike walking with wreath, M letter on amphora, in field lower left EMF all within olive wreath, (cf.S.2555, Thompson 277h [with the same dies], Specimen in Leningrad Museum). Struck on a broad flan, good very fine and very rare, the dies published from the one example in Russia.
