| Lot description: Ezanas, circa 345-380. Argyros (Silver, 12 mm, 0.78 g, 12 h), pagan types, circa 345-360. HZA-NAC Draped bust of Ezanas to right, wearing tight-fitting head cloth and circular earring; above, pellet in crescent above three pellets. Rev. Munro-Hay, AC -. Unique. An unusual hybrid issue. Some deposits and the reverse weakly struck, otherwise, good very fine. From the Dr. Stephan Coffman Collection. This unusual coin combines two obverse dies of Hahn & Keck 28. Such (very rare) hybrids are well known from the later reign of Nezana/Nezool, but are also documented for Ezanas, albeit for a different type and denomination than our coin (see Hahn & Keck 27 for hybrid 3 argyroi combining two reverse dies).
