| Lot description: Crispus, Caesar, 316-326. Follis (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.28 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Siscia, irregular mint, after 320. IVL CRIIPV-S NOB NH. Rev. VIRTV EXCIT / S - L / SIS Two captives seated at base of vexillum inscribed VOT / +. Cf. RIC 113 (for prototype). Repatinated, otherwise, good very fine. From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, ex Lanz 109, 27 May 2002, 79. The style of this coin is clearly unofficial, indicating that it is a contemporary 'barbarous' imitation. The closest official parallel is RIC 113 (Siscia).
