| Lot description: Crispus, Caesar, 316-326. Follis (Bronze, 17 mm, 2.32 g, 11 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Treveri, irregular mint, after circa 321-323. CRISPVS NOBIL C Helmeted and cuirassed bust of Crispus to left. Rev. BEATA TRAN-QVILLITAS / •PTRE Globe set on altar inscribed VO/TIS / XX; above, three stars. RIC -. Somewhat rough and with light deposits, otherwise, very fine. From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, formed since 1969. This well produced coin is either a contemporary 'barbarous' imitation or an official coin with an engraver's error. The fabric, low weight and slightly unofficial style point towards the latter.
