Caracalla, 198-217. Antoninianus (Silver, 23 mm, 5.18 g, 1 h), Rome, 215. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM Radiate and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right, seen from behind. Rev. P M TR P XVIII COS IIII P P Jupiter seated left, holding Victory in his right hand and long scepter in his left; at feet to left, eagle standing left, head to right. BMC -. Cohen -, cf. 277 (bust draped and cuirassed). RIC -, cf. 260b (bust draped and cuirassed). A rare variety. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, about extremely fine.
