M COMMODVS ANTONINVS AVG Laureate and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right, seen from behind. Rev. TR P V IMP IIII COS II P P / TR PP Trophy between two captives. Cf. BMC 9, Cohen 791 and RIC 9 (for possible prototype). A charming imitation of beautiful style. Minor edge crack, otherwise, good very fine.

RIC 126 (for prototype). Minor traces of corrosion on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.

The style of this coin is clearly unofficial, indicating that it is a contemporary 'barbarous' imitation, copying RIC 126 (Lugdunum). Some of the lettering is irregular and each N is retrograde. In addition, the central star above the altar is missing.

IVL CRISPVS NOB CAES Laureate and cuirassed bust of Crispus to left, seen from behind, holding spear in his right hand and shield with his left. Rev. BEATA TRN-QVILLITAS / C - R / PLG Globe set on altar inscribed VO/TIS / XX; above, three stars. Cf. RIC 162 (for prototype). An exceptionally attractive imitation, beautifully struck, of fine style, and with a delightful brown patina. Extremely fine.

At first glance, the style of this coin looks official, but some features indicate that it is a contemporary 'barbarous' imitation, as the lettering is partially crude and irregular, with a spelling error on the reverse.
