| Lot description: INDIA, Kushan Empire. Vasudeva I, circa 192-225. 1/4 Dinar (Gold, 16 mm, 2.08 g, 12 h), a Kushano-Sasanian imitation in the name of Vasudeva I. Uncertain mint in Baktria. ÞAONANOÞAO BAZOΔHO KOÞANO ('King of Kings, Vasudeva Kushan' in Batrian) Vasudeva I standing front, nimbate and head to left, holding trident in his left hand and sacrificing over altar with his right hand; in field to left, trident with ribbons; around, traces of legend. Rev. OHÞO Ithyphallic Siva standing front, holding diadem in his right hand and trident in his left; behind, his companion, the bull Nandi, standing left; to upper left, tamgha. ANS Kushan 1703.
