PERSIA, Alexandrine Empire. Uncertain satraps of Babylon, circa 328-311 BC. 1/3 Stater (Silver, 13 mm, 4.00 g, 12 h), Babylon. Baaltars seated left, holding scepter in his right hand and placing his left hand on throne. Rev. Lion walking left; above, TI; to left, torch . CNG E-Auction 196 (2008), 60. Nicolet-Pierre -, cf. 3 and 18 (staters with torch). An extremely rare variety of a rare denomination, with a bold and proud lion. Somewhat rough, otherwise, good very fine.
