Roman Empire, Julian II, 'the Apostate' (AD 361-363), AV Solidus, Constantinople, FL CL IVLIANVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. VIRTVS EXERCITVS ROMANORVM, Soldier advancing right, head left, holding trophy over left shoulder and dragging captive, crouched right, with right arm CONSP in exergue, 4.49g (Cohen 79; Depeyrot 7/1; RIC 158), exceptionally well-preserved, detailed, residually lustrous, fresh and vibrant, very slight softening to beard on portrait, but otherwise extremely fine, staggering condition for a metal detecting find.
