Contemporary imitation of Constantius II, as Caesar, BI Nummus. Imitating Treveri, AD 332-333. [FL IVL CON]STANTIVS NOB C, laureate and cuirassed bust to right / GLOR N EXERCITVS (sic), two soldiers standing facing, looking inwards, each holding spear and resting on grounded shield, two standards between them; TR•S in exergue. RIC VII 540. 1.21g, 14mm, 12h.

Extremely Fine; a fairly faithful imitation.

Ex Nether Compton Hoard.

This hoard was discovered by Mike Pittard while metal detecting near Nether Compton, Dorset on 19th February 1989. It comprised of 22,670 largely Constantinian coins and was deposited with the Yeovil Museum until 1994, after which it was returned to the finder and sold.
