Contemporary imitation of Constantine II, as Caesar, Æ 13mm. Imitating Lugdunum, AD 335-337. CONSTANTINVS IVN N C, laureate and cuirassed bust to right / GLORIA EXERCITVS, two soldiers standing facing, heads towards each other, each holding inverted spear and resting hand on shield, standard between; PLG in exergue. Cf. Chapmanslade CHRB X 669; Roma, E-96, 1459. 0.85g, 13mm, 6h.

Ex Nether Compton Hoard.

This hoard was discovered by Mike Pittard while metal detecting near Nether Compton, Dorset on 19th February 1989. It comprised of 22,670 largely Constantinian coins and was deposited with the Yeovil Museum until 1994, after which it was returned to the finder and sold.
