Contemporary imitation of Constantine II, as Caesar, Æ 14mm. Imitating uncertain mint, circa AD 317-337. CONSTANTINI IVN NOB C (sic), laureate, draped and cuirassed bust to left / Victory advancing to left, foot on prow, hand on shield to right, holding spear; indistinct legend in exergue. Cf. RIC VII 73 (Antioch) for obverse and RIC VII 523 (Treveri) for reverse. 1.19g, 14mm, 12h.

Ex Nether Compton Hoard.

This hoard was discovered by Mike Pittard while metal detecting near Nether Compton, Dorset on 19th February 1989. It comprised of 22,670 largely Constantinian coins and was deposited with the Yeovil Museum until 1994, after which it was returned to the finder and sold.
