Crispus, as Caesar, BI Nummus. Treveri, AD 322-323. IVL CRISPVS NOB CAES, laureate and cuirassed bust to left with head of gorgoneion on chest, holding spear and shield; shield decorated with two soldiers shaking hands, two figures either side / BEATA TRANQVILLITAS, large globe on an altar inscribed VOTIS XX in three lines; three stars above, •PTR• in exergue. RIC VII 372. 3.30g, 20mm, 12h.

Near Extremely Fine; flan crack at 11h. Extremely rare variant of this bust type with a gorgoneion on the breastplate and an elaborately decorated shield.
