Lot description: Constantine I, 307/310-337. Follis (Bronze, 23 mm, 4.90 g, 12 h), Rome, 312-313. IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constantine I to right. Rev. VICTOR-I-A AVGGG / R S Constantine I, helmeted and in military attite, standing front, head to right, holding parazonium in his right hand and spear in his left, being crowned by Victory standing right on the left. RIC -. Apparently unique and of great historical interest. Struck from a somewhat worn obverse die and with some weakness on the reverse, otherwise, about very fine. From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, ex Rauch 101, 19 April 2016, 1727. The 'AVGGG' series was very short-lived, celebrating the unity of the three emperors Constantine I, Licinius I, and Maximinus II.
