Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX, 1282-1328. Basilikon (Silver, 22 mm, 2.13 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis, 1304-1320. KVPIE BOHΘEI Christ, nimbate, seated facing on backless throne, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left; below each elbow of Christ, small pellet. Rev. AVTOKPATOPЄC PⲰMAIⲰN Andronicus II, on the left, standing facing, wearing crown with pendilia and loros and Michael IX, on the right, standing facing, wearing crown with pendilia and loros, holding between them labarum on shaft. DOC 517ff. SB 2402. An attractive example with beautiful iridescent toning. Light doubling, otherwise, about extremely fine.
