Lot description: PHOENICIA, Sidon. Elagabalus. AD 218-222. Æ (29mm, 13.90 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / City gate(?) with central bay between two towers; within, Marsyas standing left, carrying wine-skin over shoulder and rasing hand, between two Nikai, each standing on column, holding wreath; upper level decorated with statues; in the center, Europa seated on galloping bull right, holding billowing veil. RPC VI Online 8386; Rouvier 1550. Green surfaces with earthen highlights, minor roughness. Fine. Very rare, only five recorded in RPC and none in CoinArchives.
