Seleukid Empire, Seleukos I Nikator AV Stater. In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Babylon mint, circa 320-315 BC. Head of Athena to right, wearing triple-crested Corinthian helmet decorated with sphinx seated to right with forepaw raised / Nike standing to left, holding wreath and stylis; ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ to left, AΛEΞANΔPOY to right, monograms in inner fields. Unpublished; for control linkage, cf. SC Ad 44.1 = Price 3336 (both controls, Babylon mint, tetradrachm in the name of Alexander, struck under Seleukos I Nikator as satrap) and P154 (one control, Arados, stater struck in the name of Philip III Arrhidaios). 8.61g, 19mm, 10h.

NGC graded Ch AU, 4/5 - 4/5, flan flaw (#6555672-001). Extremely Rare; seemingly unpublished and possibly unique.
