Lot description: LANCASTER. Henry VI. First reign, 1422-1461. AR Groat (27mm, 3.73 g, 7h). Cross-pellet issue. London mint; im: cross patonce. Struck 1454-1461. Crowned facing bust within tressure of arches; trefoils at cusps; saltire on neck / Long cross pattée; triple pellets in quarters, with additional pellets in second and third quarters. Whitton, Heavy 83d; North 1518; SCBC 1936. Rich old cabinet toning with iridescent highlights, small edge split. Near EF.
