ANCIENT THEMES. Lucius Verus. AD 161-169. Cast Æ "Sestertius" (32mm, 25.26 g, 12h). Paduan type. Mid quality cast after Giovanni da Cavino (1500-1570). L · VERVS ΛVC ΛRMENIΛCVS, laureate and cuirassed bust, seen from behind / REX ΛRMENIIS DΛTVS IMP II TR P IIII COS II, S C in exergue, Lucius Verus seated left on curule chair set on platform; two soldiers behind; to right, officer standing left, holding rod; to lower left, Sohaemus standing left, raising hand to head. Johnson & Martini 1756-8. Brown surfaces, porosity, evidence of flan crack. Good VF.
