Chalukyas of Kalyana - uninscribed and unattributed gold are haga or ½ fanam, c.10th-11th century AD, unpublished in MCSI, 0.16g. Obv: stylized representation of Peacock (Navilu) facing left in profile. Rev: stylized eight-petalled lotus. Good Very fine, Very rare. Estimate: 10,000 - 12,000

Footnote: Chalukya inscriptions, like the Kudatini inscription of King Tribhuvanamalla, mention coins named Navilachchina Pon or Hons with 'peacock motif'. It is possible that this is a smaller fraction of the same series.
