| Lot description: BOLIVIA, Potosí, cob 8 reales, Philip II, assayer C below erased B/L, rare, ex-Woodside. S-P5; KM-5.1; Cal-671. 27.03 grams. Choice, broad-flan example with lovely old toning, bold full interior details including P-erasure-C, some legend despite peripheral flatness due to uneven thickness, XF with minor surface porosity and light marks. As stated in the previous lot, our records indicate three known obverse dies known for this issue, which Sellschopp famously attributed to La Plata in error, this one being a match with Sellschopp 141 / Paoletti 59.
