PERU, Lima, cob 2 reales, Philip II, assayer X to right, very rare, NGC AU 58. S-L3; KM-9; Cal-336. 6.82 grams. Sharply detailed full cross-lions-castles and shield, with full and bold P-X to right and denomination ii to left, bottom half of most of legend including king's name, a choice example of this very rare (brief) second assayer of the mint, the last to use the early pillars design and first to use this new shield design before many of the punches and tools went on to La Plata and then Potosí.
