| Lot description: COLOMBIA, Bogotá, gold cob 2 escudos, Philip IV, assayer R below denomination II to left (mid-1600s), NGC MS 61. Restrepo-M50.23; S-B21; KM-4.1; Cal-Type 386; Fr-2. 6.71 grams. Choice full shield with bold assayer R to left and mintmark N•R• to left (an arrangement that has been seen only for dates in the 1640s plus some 1654 and 1655), full cross and tressure with small ringlets in shallow dimples (typical of early 1640s), lustrous, rich gold color.
