| Lot description: COLOMBIA, Bogotá, gold cob 2 escudos, (1639), assayer not visible (A below mintmark NR to left), rare, NGC AU 55 / double struck. Restrepo-M50.16; S-B20; KM-4.1; Cal-1795; Fr-2. 6.75 grams. Off-center strike but with full cross showing clear dots outside the ends of the cross (a variety of the year 1639 only), the shield also full but doubled, with bold denomination •II• to right, rich gold color with some evidence of die-rust.
