| Lot description: MEXICO, Mexico City, gold cob 1 escudo, (1711) J, mintmark oXM, crosslet cross, NGC AU 53 (1715 Fleet Shipwreck Label). S-M30; KM-51.1; Cal-1736; Fr-7c. 3.36 grams. Good full cross, most of shield on a smallish flan with messy but certain oXMJ to left, the oXM mintmark indicative of only the date 1711 with this type of cross (NGC says 1711-13), partial peripheral flatness, lightly toned fields. From the 1715 Fleet, with Sedwick photo-certificate from 2022. Estimate: $3500 - $5000 |  |
