Lot description: Canada Nova Scotia. Victoria Specimen Pattern Cent 1861 SP66 Red and Brown PCGS, London mint, KM-Pn8, NS-8. Large Rosebud variety. A splendid representative of this Pattern type, rising head and shoulders above its peers at PCGS as the sole finest example certified there. The obverse faces up with a delicious ginger hue that is accentuated by patches of darker patina and boosted by fleeting sparkles of brilliance. Turning to reverse, an explosion of electric blue is met with surrounding hues of mauve and deep magenta, creating an intriguing visual feast at the tilt of the wrist. Overall an outstanding example which we expect will be met with fierce bidding activity at the auction block.
