Lot description:

Canada
Newfoundland. Victoria Specimen Pattern Cent 1864 SP65 Red and Brown PCGS, London mint, KM-Pn2, NF-18. Medal alignment, specimen strike. A simply stunning Gem Specimen Pattern, of vastly more pleasing quality than the storied Ex. Norweb/Belzberg/Farouk example we auctioned in 2003 realizing nearly $3,000. An immensely gratifying selection featuring fiery magenta and azure to the open expanses, forming a captivating juxtaposition with the incredibly crisp and matte raised motifs. Believed to have been included in the specimen sets of 1864-1865 and appearing conservatively graded, and entirely worthy of an advanced bid as the lucky new owner will not be left wanting.
