ANCIENT THEMES. Lucius Verus. AD 161-169. Æ "Sestertius" (37mm, 39.54 g, 7h). Paduan type. After Giovanni da Cavino (1500-1570). Later cast. L VERUS AVG ARM PARTH MAX TR P VIIII, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Jupiter, holding scepter and baton, seated slightly right on seven hills of Rome, receiving Victory from emperor, who stands left; to right, Virtus standing left, crowning emperor with wreath; in exergue, TR P VIII IMP IIII/ COS III P P. Johnson & Martini 1759-1763. Brown patina. Near EF. A good quality cast.
